Modify Tab Settings
After you've typed your text at each tab stop, you might discover that you need to move some of the tabs left or right.To modify tab settings, follow these steps:
| 1. | Select the text that is using the tab stops that you need to
change. This is important: If you don't select the text before hand, you'll move the tabs and your text will go haywire! |
| 2. | Click and drag the tab marker on the ruler. OR Choose Format ► Tabs from the menu bar, and change the tab's setting. |
Remove a Tab Stop
You can always remove tabs from the ruler, or from just a part of the document.To remove a tab stop, follow these steps:
| 1. | Position the cursor in the line where you want to remove the tabs from. |
| 2. | Click-and-drag the tab stop, downwards, off the ruler and
release the mouse button. OR Choose Format ► Tabs from the menu bar, and click the Clear or Clear All button. |

Q: Why did
my text jump around when I move the tab marker? You MUST select all the text using a specific tab stop that you want to change. |
